About Munds park

Munds Park is a quaint vacation town nestled in the pines of Coconino forest. We're located just 120 miles north of Phoenix and 20 miles south of Flagstaff, Arizona.

Munds Park is home to an abundance of outdoor recreation for every season and outdoor enthusiasts. Attractions include:

Camping

During the summer months, camping is allowed just east of Munds Park in the Coconino National Forest. The camp areas are pristine and well cared for by visitors who care and leave no trace, and Munds Park volunteers who pick up litter and ensure campfires are properly put out.

Golf

The Pinewood Country Club is a private 18-hole championship golf course.

Hiking & Motorsport Trails

The Munds Park Trail System is a collection of well-maintained trails surrounding our town. Hikers and motorsport enthusiasts enjoy this top-rated summer destination in the cool pines of the Coconino forest. The trail system passes between Munds Park and Mormon Lake and is carefully maintained by a fantastic group of volunteers, the Munds Park Trail Stewards

Hunting

Munds Park is among the richest areas in Arizona for hunting elk, deer, and other large game. Just a note to hunters, see the elk with stunted antlers in the above photo? Please don't hunt him! That's Lefty, our mascot and our town loves him!

A Note to Visitors

Don't let the description "vacation town" give you the wrong idea. Munds Park is quiet and home to full and part-time civic-minded locals who devote their time to keeping the community as pristine as possible. They love the quiet, untouched land and undeveloped surroundings. They take strong exception to visitors who don't respect the land. So when you visit our town, don't leave a trace, obey fire restrictions and speed limits. This will reduce the chances of you getting shot! Just joking! Maybe.
