Pinewood Players Announce...

Updated: Jun 3, 2020

2020 Scholarship Program!

Pinewood Players Scholarship Committee Chairperson Terri Peach has announced that the committee is now accepting applications for the 2020 Pinewood Players Scholarship Award. Each year Pinewood Players awards up to two $2000 scholarships to deserving students with ties to the Munds Park community.

Successful applicants are pursuing a major or minor in either the performing arts, or performing arts education, or they have attended the last two Pinewood Players Drama Camps. Applicants must meet the program requirements for academic performance and must display leadership abilities as defined in the program documentation. Program requirements and application forms are available here.

In 2019 Pinewood Players awarded $2000 Scholarships to former Drama Camp attendees Mattie Mitchell (11 camps) and Maggie Hansen (4 camps). Both Mattie and Maggie described their Pinewood Players Drama Camp experiences as life-enriching, helping them to develop their appreciation for the performing arts while creating many new friendships and helping them to adjust and understand their true capabilities.

Mattie is attending Embry-Riddle University in Prescott, Arizona, where she is pursuing her dream to become an airline pilot. She recently told us, “The Pinewood Players Scholarship has helped me immensely with continuing my education. Flying is so important to me, and I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for the support of scholarships like this one.” We also spoke with Maggie, who is enrolled in a pre-law curriculum at NAU in Flagstaff, AZ. She said, “It (the Pinewood Players scholarship) allowed me to focus on my studies more instead of my finances, and I’m so thankful for that.” Pinewood Players is proud to support these recipients, as well as all of our scholarship recipients, in helping them pursue a higher education.
