AZ High Mountain Trail Rides
Mention "Pinewood" and receive 20% off! Our rides depart from the heart of Mormon Lake, Az and will take you through the Ponderosa Pine trees of North America. With wildlife abundant in the area you may see elk, deer, foxes, raccoons, bobcats, and possibly a coyote. Horseback riding in Mormon Lake is a unique experience for all ages. Horseback riding in the pine trees gives you a new look at the forest. Let’s saddle up and ride!
Our trails are good for beginner riders and families. Riders of all levels will enjoy our horses and trails.
Please note WE DO NOT RUN our horses due to the mountain terrain, possible ground burrowing animals and other natural wildlife for the riders, and horse’s safety. You must always listen to and remain with our staff.
The typical ride begins after some instruction from the wrangler, and then you’ll saddle up to begin the ride… Our wranglers love taking people on this ride along some of the most spectacular forest trails.

Flagstaff Blues & Brews
The Flagstaff Blues and Brews Festival is full of energy from start to finish, and it just builds throughout the day. People have fun, with beach balls, frisbees, cornhole, just enjoying a great day with friends and great music. The team at Peak Events decided it was more important to have a comfortable festival than whole lotta folks that barely get to see the stage. We have fun and everyone who attends has fun as well, so… what are you waiting for? We bring in music that normally doesn’t make it up this far north. We start out with great headliners and work our way down to the first act, each one hand-picked for the vibe they add to the festival.
The Flagstaff Blues and Brews have become Flagstaff’s largest destination festival and the largest supporters of music education. Come on up to the Flagstaff Blues and Brews Festival and if it’s not the best summer event in Arizona, well, you’re just weird.

September 17
Pinewood Fire Department Auxiliary Golf Tournament
On Saturday, September 17, 2022, more than 100 golfers will come out to support our Pinewood Fire Department in a shotgun tournament. This is the fourth golf tournament sponsored by the Pinewood Fire Department Auxiliary in the past five years. There were a few surprises at last year’s tournament. The biggest was the excitement of a hole-in-one by Andy Glulick on the 16th hole! He won an Expedia trip to anywhere in the United States. We are hoping this year for someone to win money toward a new vehicle from our sponsor! The lineup this year will have the ball drop by our fire crew, closest to the pin prize winners, putting contests and a challenge to beat a pro golfer by hitting closest to the pin. There will be awesome prizes for the closest to the hole on all four par threes. Not to mention, the monetary prizes awarded to teams that place 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Additionally, all golfers will receive a Tee bag full of various gifts. A delicious buffet dinner will wrap-up the day with the presentation of awards and prizes.
The Pinewood Fire Department Auxiliary is a non-profit 501(c) (3) that supports our local fire department and the community of Munds Park. This year’s money that will be raised from the tournament will be put to good use. Fire Chief Tope works diligently to request items that are needed at the station. In recent years the Auxiliary has purchased many such items with the money raised at the golf tournaments and other events. Some of these things are: multi band radios, lockers for each fire fighter, Evac-U-Splint equipment, Broselow pediatric bags, dual pane windows for the station, a water pump for the Ranger, workout equipment, hydraulic spreader-cutter extractor for vehicles (Jaws of Life), and a new snowblower for the parking lot. We know that whatever Chief Tope requests, the Auxiliary and its members will do their best to support this.
You don’t want to miss this event!!! Save the date and look for registration to open up in May. This tournament welcomes anyone and everyone to participate. We would love to see more women golfers join the fun!!! You do not have to be a member of the country club to come out and support our Fire Department!
